Duties.
I now have to make sure the front and back doors are locked as Poppy can open them. I could hardly believe it the other day when her Grandad said she could reach the handle, she stretches as much as she can on tiptoe and grabs the handle with finger tips so I was surprised when she managed to pull it down! She sounded just like me when she stood at our back door yesterday shouting "Poll, Poll" I had to laugh. Polly the dog, who was standing at the top of the garden having a sniff round the lawn just looked round and ignored Poppy who kept on shouting. No way was Polly going to go into the house for a baby! We have always used the phrase "duties" to get out dogs to go out into the garden to do the necessary (a throw back to Barbara Woodhouse days! For those not born at that time she was a prominent dog trainer on tv in the 1970`s!) When I heard Poppy call out "duties" as she opened the door for the dogs yesterday afternoon after we had been out for a while I was amazed, it was very funny to watch this little tot pushing the three dogs out into the cold! She then carefully closed the door behind them before wiping her hands together, looking up at me and smiling! Bless.
