FASTER GRANDMA, FASTER!!

Poppy normally visits me on a Tuesday but today she is at home with her Daddy as she has chicken pox and we are trying to work out her child care until she can return to nursery and her childminder. Tomorrow and Thursday she will be coming to visit Grandma and Grandad as Daddy and Mommy need to go to work. Friday we shall have to see how it goes! The chicken pox struck last Friday so maybe her spots will have scabbed over and dried up by then, so she will be no longer contagious and we are hoping she may be able to attend nursery by then, as it is the Easter bonnet parade, and it would be such a shame if she were forced to miss it. I had a text off her Daddy this morning to say she is feeling a little better, her spots are drying up and she is eating again which is a huge relief as she goes off her food when she is poorly, and she has been poorly quite a few times since she was born ten weeks premature just over two and a half years ago. She is tall for her age, as the rest of us are, and very slim so she can barely afford to loose any weight so when she goes off her food it is a worry, especially as she does not always have the best appetite anyway.
Emma, Lee and Poppy all came round on Sunday afternoon and as the weather was quite pleasant we all took the dogs for a walk (well in my case ride on my mobility scooter) around the woods. Poppy loves going for her woodland walks, she really enjoys looking round for squirrels, birds and any other wildlife she may see and she will stop and stand for a moment, listening for the birds singing. She also sometimes cadges a lift on Grandmas mobility scooter when she will stand on the footplate, or sit on my lap, shouting faster Grandma, faster as we trundle at a heady 6mph along the woodland paths! The walk seemed to do her good for a while, and she was dancing around, but she soon showed that she was tired and Emma took her home for an early night.
